Development of a theory of the coupled ocean-atmosphere system

Project Leader:
Dr. Hsien-Wang Ou

Earth Institute Contact: Dr. Hsien-Wang Ou

Locations: Earth

Special Locations:
ocean-atmosphere

Description:
It is proposed to deduce the large-scale structure of a coupled ocean-atmosphere based on first principles. The theory integrates the thermal and dynamical fields, and provides a unified explanation of the general circulations of the ocean and atmosphere.
