Stratification of Malaria Risk in Eritrea

Project Leader:
Dr. Madeleine Thomson

Earth Institute Contact: Dr. Madeleine Thomson

Locations: Eritrea

Description:
Led by the USAID Environmental Health Program, the project aims to use environmental and epidemiological information to map varying levels of malaria endemicity, and to identify regions where epidemics are most likely to occur. The project plans to provide evidence to the proposed sentinel surveillance program of the Eritrean Ministry of Health. The IRI is extending the analysis of the data to finalize the production of malaria stratification maps, which can be used at the sub-zonal administrative level for improving resource management in malaria control. The final products will be available in Healthmapper format.
