Description:
This project is working to develop a global-scale compendium of data and maps on the global distribution of poverty and related characteristics of the poor. Better understanding of where the poor live and the conditions that they face will help policy makers, development agencies, and the poor themselves improve efforts to reduce poverty. CIESIN is working closely with the Millennium Project to provide access to and support analysis of key data needed in the development of plans to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
