Description:
This project is developing and implementing a Web Feature Service (WFS) to make data available online for Government Unit (GU) Framework data and selected data from the U.S. Census of Population for six states of the northeastern United States. The project is working closely with IONIC Enterprise to implement the new Geographic Information Framework Data Content Standards-Governmental Unit Boundary Exchange Standard and to provide data access through the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) WFS specification. The resulting Framework data service will be hosted by the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) Northeast Information Node developed by CIESIN and made accessible via the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) spatial data clearinghouse and the Geospatial One-Stop.
