Description:
The Environmental Sustainability Index provides an aggregate measure of national progress towards sustainability. It is comprised of five components, which in turn are composed of between two and six indicators each. The indicators are averages of variable-level scores. In total, 67 variables went into the index. Current research is focused on methodological improvements and statistical analysis of the ESI and its constituent parts.
