Description:
I am studying the coral reefs of Indonesia for my doctoral dissertation research at Columbia University. On recent field trips, I have collected over 4000 tissue samples from a wide variety of coral species across the archipelago. I am using established genetic techniques, as well as developing new techniques, to map the genetic diversity of coral populations, estimate gene flow among populations, and identify priority sites for conservation.
