Earth Institute Contact: Dr. Alexander Van Geen
Locations: Bangladesh
Description:
The overall objective of this project is to determine to what extent interactions between arsenic, iron, and oxygen can account for variations in dissolved As levels in aquifers and in effluents produced by engineered treatment systems. Such interactions will be studied over a wide range of spatial scales that extends from the micro-scale at the Fe-oxyhydroxide/solution interface to the macro-scale of an entire aquifer.
