About the Conference
The fourth meeting of the Roundtable will be held December 18-19, 2006, at Columbia University in New York City. Both days will run from approximately 9 am - 5 pm, with a cocktail reception following the session on the 18th.
The focus of the meeting will be on finalizing a statement on climate change, that will then be opened for endorsement by participants in the Roundtable. It will also include breakout sessions for detailed discussion of demonstration projects, and several panels on adaptation to climate change.
The breakout sessios will allow for detailed discussion of projects to test, scale, promote or otherwise assist the development and implementation of new technologies, processes or policies for mitigating or adapting to climate change. Current and proposed projects include research on carbon injection in basalt, solar-powered LED lighting for the developing world, soil sequestration of carbon, and an international network of experts on energy efficiency. All Roundtable participants are invited to become involved in individual projects that are of interest to them, and are likewise invited to propose projects to become GROCC demonstration projects.
Venue
The Roundtable meeting will be held in Lerner Auditorium on the Morningside Campus of Columbia University, located at 2920 Broadway between 114th and 116th Streets in Manhattan. Click here for an interactive map of the Columbia campus.
